This cite includes a short description of bulimia, the effects of bulimia, how you can tell if someone is bulimic and how to get help if you have bulimia or how to help someone you know that is suffering from bulimia. One thing that this cite describes very well, that a lot of other don't, is the binge and purge cycle. The cycle goes like this: you crave food because of your strict diet, so you binge eat, and then to avoid weight gain, you throw it up. But then you feel shameful and disgusted, so you go back to strict dieting, but you happens over and over.

It also includes that complications of bulimia, and how if it goes on for a while, and the person becomes very unhealthy, that they can be taken to the hospital to be put on drugs that stop them form purging.

NAMI also talks about how some people who are bulimic talk about how they have a "kind of high" after they vomit, like the feel great and happier about themselves. This cite also mentions the link between self esteem and eating disorders, and how woman with low self esteem are more likely to become bulimic because they feel so uncomfortable with they're bodies.
